  Visit to Austrailia

  we're trying to rebuild our lives after leaving the org, have new experiences and create new memories for ourselves.

  we're planning out our trip to hawaii, nz, austrailia and tahati in february.

  i thought i'd see if anyone on here could give us some advice on places to see/stay/eat in brisbane and thereabouts, as well as places to steer clear of.

  well all i have to say is they are not the only organisation/religion to help. so that means they are nothing special.

  they also didn't help non-jws....isnt there a parable about the good samaritan...obviously the jws arent fullfilling bible scripture

  hi, i read a lot on here, and i am still active, i get about 3 hrs a month in service so not really that active.

  i know there are ones on here shaking their heads at me, i do believe the basic teachings, what brought me to post a thread was a thread that hit home, the topic of dating in the oganization, it brought up a lot of hurt feelings for me.

  see, i used to pioneer and i basically burned out, i was working mon wed friday sat and sun 2nd shift so i could go to the meetings on tue and thurs.

  What did you do with your books?

  i was in an used bookstore this weekend and saw a new world translation and some other society publications.

  this made me think, what did others do with their books?

  i gave mine to my mother, 22 years ago.

  Like you smiddy,

  With my mother and sister, I decided that we were going to have a clean out of all the shi*

  We had a wall full of propaganda

  So I decided it was going in the bin as I did not want it in the hands of anyone else that was vulnerable

  So it all went into the green bin...

  bloody fantastic feeling. It was like it was freedom..just wish i could do it all again for the feeling it gave at the time

  Do they still follow the same backwards policy on AIDS?

  i was browsing through some of the boe letters (made available here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/243938/1/all-letters-to-elders-from-the-branch-1981-2012-boe) and came across the 3/15/96 letter about persons with communicable diseases.

  it specifically mentions aids several times in the letter and seems to be primarily targeted at that population.

  among other gems:.

  this is because the pools are chlorinated.

  for example: a small pool (a bathtub like one for a baptism) if it is unchlorinated, a HIV person bled into the pool, then a person that was in the same pool after the water became contaminated would be considered to have had an exposure. This person would be worked up for 6 months to see if they convert.

  you are right when you say HIV wont spread in a pool. It is spread by contaminated body fluids and contact with that. If the pool is chlorinated appropriately a small amount of the virus would be killed...if there is no contamination of the water there is no risk.

  However with the original question you dont know whether the infected person is a female and has their period and is getting baptised. there are lots of variables.

  the fact remains that public pools and baths must be chlorinated...

  need advice!

  my son is three and will not stop using his diapers we have tryed alot of stuff ,sitting him on there every few hrs etc... he knows what to do if you ask him were should he use the bathroom he will say the toilet!

  but he keeps going in his pull ups, you put on underwear and spiderman get a face load of mud!.

  he'll do anything to get near them...he does the motor boat..god knows where he got that from he doesnt see that stuff anywhere..he is very cute...;has me wrapped around his little finger
